Meeting Notes - Aug 23

General updates/decsions

• We should create templates with pre-recommended categories for various types of documents (syllabi, etc.)
• We should add a sidebar called 'templates'
• Let's standardize certain categories/styles regarding English 10
  • Within course category we will make more specific subcategories that allow people the option of narrower subarticles (i.e. "English 10 Assignments" in addtion to "English 10)
• See under Marthine's updates of style for links
• We will decide color of "About" template after image is done - however, we checked the wording and clarified it

Kim Updates

• Image Files Issue

  • was a problem with one of the settings on the server

  • wrestling with these
    • cannot get the category functions to work; considering trying protected namespaces instead; have created a custom namespace called "instructorProtected" and will test restricting access to it tomorrow
• slow migration of Engl 10 LC
• Pwords for protected resources
  • course passwords use the "scribe" account
  • sent out passwords for instructors via email

Ben Updates

• Sheridan Blau has received our email interview questions -- i gave him a soft "deadline" of Sept. 18 -- Dr. Blau also said we are welcome to crib some sections from his book and post them as articles. We agreed (of course) to follow fair use
• still waiting on feedback from Andrea F. re: TA training
• Andrea and Carol Hong will join us at one of our September meetings to learn how to add/update materials so they can use the Wiki during TA training
• Image problems -- will talk to Brian to get this worked out
• Ben will contact Susan Gosling to check to see if online version of Grad Handbook is up to date with current paper iteration; he will also talk to her and Ann about whether they want the Handbook transferred to Wiki and whether/when they would like to attend a EDKB wiki meeting

Ryan Updates

• Ryan will transfer first and second qualifying exam materials

Marthine Updates

• Marthine is making separate articles for a single/multiple links. Let's make this standard style for a links section
