The UCSB English Department's EDKB is intended to be an open resource for all members of the English Department Community. Users should be aware that most material is viewable by the general public. However, special user rights must be granted for users to edit content. For more information about user permissions, see the guide to user groups.

[edit] Adding Content

The EDKB Wiki is not a comprehensive archive of materials used by the English Department. Rather, it is a collection of the Department's "best practices." Please keep this in mind when adding content.

[edit] Sharing Content

All content on the site is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 United States License. If you are not comfortable allowing others to use and revise your work, you may wish to explore some of the other departmental options for sharing information, such as the various listservs available to the English Department community.

[edit] Protecting Content & Student Privacy

Although the EDKB Wiki contains certain measures for protecting particular content, instructors should be aware that no security system is fail safe. As such, please do not add tests which are currently in use or other sensitive materials.

Additionally, when designing assignments that require students to contribute to the wiki, please keep in mind that this is a general department resource. If you wish to ask students to post information of a sensitive nature, you may wish to consider a more "closed" software platform, such as Moodle.

For more information on restricting access to content on the wiki, see the guide to restricting pages.
